Join the Band
The Keith Highlanders Pipe Band practices every Wednesday night, from 7:30-9:00pm, at the St. Thomas Episcopal School in Medina. The band is always looking for new pipers and drummers and prospective members are welcome at any band practice.
To practice in the circle with the band, new members are required to pass the minimum repertoire (KHPB settings) on their instrument:
- Scotland the Brave (4/4)
- Rowan Tree (4/4)
- Amazing Grace (slow air)
- Orange and Blue (strathspey)
- Keel Row (strathspey)
- Willie MacRae of Ullapool (9/8)
- Green Hills of Tyrol (3/4)
- When the Battle’s O’er (3/4)
- Bonnie Dundee (6/8)

Under the guidance of Music Director and Pipe Major Larry Koch, the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band has enjoyed competitive success in both the Pacific Northwest and abroad over the past several years. To compete with the band, players must achieve proficiency and comfort with both their instrument and the competition tunes.
Directions to Practice:
St. Thomas School is located at the corner of NE 12th Street and 84th Avenue NE in Medina. The property is diagonally situated from a service station, across the street from Medina City Park and its immediate neighbors are the Overlake Country Club golf course and St. Thomas School.
From the Kirkland area: Take I-405 South to Bellevue Take NE 8th Street exit heading West, pass Bellevue Square and proceed West on NE 8th Street (the road will change to NE 12th Street without you noticing). The school is on the corner of NE 12th Street and 84th Avenue NE.
From the Renton area: Take I-405 North to Bellevue. Take NE 8th Street exit heading West. Pass Bellevue Square and proceed West on NE 8th Street (the road will change to NE 12th Street without you noticing). The school is on the corner of NE 12th Street and 84th Avenue NE.
From the Seattle area: Take 520 East over the floating bridge. Take the first off ramp on the eastside (84th Avenue NE). Turn right and go about a mile to the stop sign at NE 12th Street. Turn right onto NE 12th, then immediately right into the church parking lot.
